Oxidant", an intriguing cinematic twist, is the second directing project of Hamed Mohammadi. Previously, Mohammadi's lean scripts propelled movies such as "The Painting Pool" by Maziar Miri and "Gold and Copper" by Homayoun Asadiyan two box-office success-list, winning the attention of cinema critics and audiences at the same time. Hamed Mohammadi's first featured film, "The Angels Come Together," is the story of a poor religious young man with triple children and his encounter with the new and emerging crises; a romantic drama with a challenging subject and brilliant yet slightly tense storyline.

Whatever his inner motivations, in his second cinematic experience, Mohammadi stepped forward and narrated his story in a spine-tingling comedy touching upon varies realistic issues within society. Mohammadi’s choice of the crew and acting cast is another medium to evaluate the intelligence and control of the director on the various aspects of his acting and producing team. Hence, the presence of Manouchehr Mohammadi as the producer and Javad Ezzati as the lead actor in both films suggests the formation of a successful cinematic triangle between the director and his unique film crew. Javad Ezzati, in particular, has previously proved himself as a theatrical performer both in the cinema and on television. Mohammadi displayed Ezzati's brilliant talents in the form of an emotional and dramatic character in his first movie, yet as comedian in “Oxidant”, and that alone, is a great evidence of his knowledge and understanding of the acting team’s performing potentials and capability. An ability that shines through his career since the beginning.
Medieval nuns Alessandra (Alison Brie), Fernanda (Aubrey Plaza), and Ginevra (Kate Micucci) lead a simple life in their convent. Their days are spent chafing at monastic routine, spying on one another, and berating the estate’s day laborer. After a particularly vicious insult session drives the peasant away, Father Tommasso (John C. Reilly) brings on new hired hand Massetto (Dave Franco), a virile young servant forced into hiding by his angry lord. Introduced to the sisters as a deaf-mute to discourage temptation, Massetto struggles to maintain his cover as the repressed nunnery erupts in a whirlwind of pansexual horniness, substance abuse, and wicked revelry.

Performed entirely in Yiddish, a language not used in cinema for many decades, MENASHE follows a kind, hapless grocery store clerk as he struggles to make ends meet and responsibly parent his young son, Rieven. But in the wake of his wife Leah’s death, tradition prohibits Menashe from raising his son alone, so Rieven’s strict uncle adopts him, leaving Menashe heartbroken. Meanwhile, though Menashe seems to bungle every challenge in his path, his rabbi grants him one special week with Rieven before Leah’s memorial and a chance to prove himself a suitable man of faith and fatherhood.

With A GHOST STORY, acclaimed director David Lowery (AIN'T THEM BODIES SAINTS, PETE'S DRAGON) returns with a singular exploration of legacy, loss, and the essential human longing for meaning and connection.

Recently deceased, a white-sheeted ghost (Academy Award-winner Casey Affleck) returns to his suburban home to console his bereft wife (Academy Award-nominee Rooney Mara), only to find that in his spectral state he has become unstuck in time, forced to watch passively as the life he knew and the woman he loves slowly slip away. Increasingly unmoored, the ghost embarks on a cosmic journey through memory and history, confronting life's ineffable questions and the enormity of existence. An unforgettable meditation on love and grief, A GHOST STORY emerges ecstatic and surreal - a wholly unique experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
