A meeting between film artisans and psychoanalysts
The evenings organized by the Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists of Quebec under the name "Cinemas" had their first performance on September 28, 2001. The name "Cinemas" is used to underline the fact that each spectator makes his own cinema out of the films he sees projected in front of him, just as he does with his dreams.
These evenings consist of a presentation and discussion of filmic works of interest for the exploration of the unconscious, as well as aesthetic and dramatic appeal.
They begin with a brief introduction to the film, followed by the screening, and continue with a commentary from a psychoanalytic perspective and an exchange with the audience.
Each film will be commented on and discussed in cinematic and psychoanalytic terms as to its representation of progress, the dark or light component of the story told.
Additional information about this meeting will be disseminated through the usual channels of the APPQ film club.
