PUSH (stf)
PUSH is a “gripping new film about how global finance is fueling the housing crisis and making cities unaffordable to live in” writes Patrick Butler at the Guardian.
The 2019 documentary from award-winning director Fredrik Gertten, investigates why we can’t afford to live in our own cities anymore. Housing is a fundamental human right, in Montreal a matter of life or death. But in cities all around the world, having a place to live is becoming more and more difficult. Who are the players and what are the factors that make housing one of today’s most pressing world issues? Is Montreal threatened?

This event is being organized by Prenons la Ville as part of the release of the new book Montreal: A Citizen's Guide to City Politics, a collection by 28 Montreal activists and researchers edited by Eric Shragge, Jason Prince and Mostafa Henaway, eds.

With Labour Power Plant, Romana Schmalisch & Robert Schlicht imagine a caustic science fiction story inspired by documentary.
