C'est avec beaucoup d'émotion que le Cinéma du Parc ouvre sa 9e saison de Minuit au Parc avec une rétrospective des films du réalisateur défunt David Lynch.

Le décès de Lynch le 15 janvier dernier a provoqué une onde de choc au sein de notre équipe, surtout auprès de notre Directeur de programmation Jean-François Lamarche, qui présente les films de Lynch au Parc depuis ses débuts comme programmateur en 2006.

Pour rendre hommage à cette connexion profonde, les films seront présentés dans l'ordre dans lequel Jean-François a découvert l'univers singulier de Lynch. Les adeptes de Lynch sont invités à revisiter ses oeuvres sur grand écran et les moins connaissants auront l'opportunité de découvrir le réalisateur avec des camarades cinéphiles.

It is with a lot of emotion that Cinéma du Parc opens its 9th season of Parc at Midnight with a retrospective of the films of the late David Lynch.

Lynch’s death on January 15 sent shockwaves through our team, especially for our Programming Director Jean-François Lamarche, who has been presenting Lynch films at Parc since his start as a programmer in 2006.

To honour this deep connection, the films are presented in the order that Jean-François discovered Lynch’s singular universe. Lynch aficionados are invited to revisit his films on the big screen, while newcomers will have an opportunity to discover the director with fellow cinephiles.

A popular screening series in Montreal, Parc at Midnight embodies the very essence of Lynch: cult, unpredictable, always mindful of its audience without taking itself too seriously. As such it was a natural decision to dedicate the first cycle of the 9th season of the series to our team’s and our clients’ favourite filmmaker.
